Ya but we've had a thread like this before. I believe we settled on it's good for people who aren't good with photoshop or GIMP.

Also for people who can't afford Photoshop, aren't creative enough to make something as good, and lazy asses like me!

also try cooltext.com, I enjoy that one a lot. I used it for the image on my main page.

A lot of these sites probably use PHP's GD library to dynamically produce the images. All are good examples of use of Gdlib. Thanks for sharing, although I will keep to photoshop
